About The Artist

The works of Sung Dong-Hun are samplings of misplaced components conjoined with incompatible counterparts. Selectively experimental in medium and whimsical in form, the compositions of reclaimed antique sculptures and obsolete gadgetryembodythe intersection of robust idealism andmarkeddelusion. In 1990, Dong-Hun won two first prizes in sculpture for a body of work that is aptly titled, Don Quixote Series. Among the winning works, replique montre is a patchwork of salvaged widgets that depict Don Quixote mounted on a rearing horse brandishing a sword against his imagined foes.
