For Claire her art practice is one and of one piece with her spiritual path. Her art is an expression of the unfolding of her inner journey. She intuitively fluctuates between the abstract and the figurative, creating subtle worlds that evoke imaginary and symbolic landscapes, where nature is animated. In her visual storytelling there are no boundaries between realms, instead they simply unfold into each other in a kind of continuum. The symbolic and allegorical cityscapes that she depicts, timeless and unknown, may sometimes evoke metropolises or some undiscovered or mythical cities. "The cities form layers, of all that must transform in us all that aspire to a higher and greater self says Claire, and the journey to experience this inner transformation is not a linear ascending process but rather a multi dimensional one and so are the worlds we traverse in this journey.And this is how Claire etches out her visual narrative, playing with different planes. She pursues: "My work also tries to convey how my inner landscapes are totally interwoven with other's landscapes, how we are all interdependent. This is how I built my cities with layers connected to each other, entangled with one another. The stories that we carry are nested in each other. And to evolve to a greater self they are layers and layers to be transformed at different levels, nested in each other, strata of our small and large stories of now and
Before The mythical cities are present remains of an attempt of a new world and in this adventure of a new man we also carry these experiences; these legends are an access key to a higher Truth I have always been fascinated by the stories of lost civilizations and the myths that they carry which have had a great impact on my work and its development. The lines that she paints with her brush are also the manifested form of a vibration, a pattern, a mouvement, a wave, of which our bodies are made of. My work also speaks about the body, how it carries all our stories, how it is the place where one can transform oneself. Her work is describing the possibilities that are opened for each one of us, the inner discoveries that one has the opportunity to access while pushed to his/her own boundaries and limitations and how one may expand oneself. As soon as we go deep within ourselves, in the profundities of the soul we find ourselves surrounded by a whole complex world which we have to know and to conquer. My art has accompanied me to get a greater clarity, creating new languages, and new images to feel and think about; to dream with new realities.In her stories there are no past, no present and future, they are all present at the same time. In my paintings the cities are remains of the old and vision of the new.She paints worlds, where one is liberated from the temporality and the space, the form; With a new physics multidimensional where time and space doesn't exist. "Each evolution has taken place in the consciousness before manifesting itself into a form. My work is about this bridge between inner forms and outer ones.
