About The Artist

Born 1974 at Burla in 0rissa, Pratul Dash did his graduation in painting from B.K College of Arts & Crafts at Bhubaneswar and his Master’s Degree in painting from the College of Art in Delhi. This was followed by a UNIDEE residency at Cittadelarte in Italy, turning his interest in video art into a serious pursuit. Pratul’s work makes an interesting study of contemporary metro culture where the migrant and the marginalized have to struggle for their bare existence, while they are shown busily building the city to make life easy for the urban rich. His large and colourful canvases present over powering images of construction sites and grids occasionally with a lone man standing up the scaffolds replica uhren deutschland or lurking behind or above another difficult locale. Innovative in spirit, he works on collage, film, video, digital art, installations and mixed media besides paintings on paper and canvas and is trying to set up a platform laboratory for creative people to work for and with the society.
