About The Artist
Anupam Raza Saksena’s works are a combination of Expressionism , Surrealism and Abstraction. Inspired and emerging from memories ,emotions ,journeys and awakenings ;experimentations and preferences of the moment. He strives to direct his brush through ideologies—from anarchism and rebellion against the societal dictums and prefers his works to define and express him.
He has endeavored to capture and portray a dimensional story through each of his works, as the India he is exposed to; means living simultaneously in several times and cultures walking often into medieval situation and primitive people with their given complexities and convergence of religion, social myth and disparity and the dichotomy and interpretation of religious myth.
The immense restlessness and impatience and quest to find peace and solutions to issues that are diffused rather than tackled transcend in his artworks which range from impressionist Scapes to Religion ,Indian myth and social cultural issues. He freely rejects the conventional painterly values and chooses to use his own palette of colours and forms and is open to experimenting with the various mediums right from stainless steel sheets to glass garrafao and canvas. A play of paradox is inherent in the manipulation of images in his works and his subject matter ;and he freely uses optional influences from the parameters of the past .
