About The Artist

Born 1976 in Jamui, Bihar, Suraj Kumar Kashi completed his BFA from the College of Art and Craft, Patna and an MFA from College of Art, Delhi University (2003). Suraj started out in the advertising world where, as an Art Director in Ogilvy & Mather, he churned out creative lines for many multinational brands. After two-and-a-half-years, he realized his calling was always with the paint and brush. He has participated in several solo and group shows across the country and beyond including the Athens Biennale in 2013. The urban elite and rural folk both have a place in Suraj’s dreamlike world of flying horses and white clouds.
