About The Artist

Born in 1981 Kolkata, India, Santanu Dey studied sculpture at the Government College of Art Craft, University of Calcutta in Kolkata and M. S. University of Baroda. He has participated in major exhibitions, most recently being the 18th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh, 2018. Shantanu received the Best Sculpture Award by Prafulla Dhanukar Art Foundation in 2017. He has participated in numerous residencies and workshops including National Wood Carving Workshop Organized by Kerala Lalith Kala Academy, Kerala, India (2017), ‘Khoj Peers Share Program’, Khoj, New Delhi (2015), National Stone Carving Workshop Organized by Lalit Kala Akademy, New Delhi (2014),National Wood Carving Workshop Organized by Vice-Versa Foundation, Goa, under the guidance of Eminent Sculptor Karl Antao, India (2012) and more. His works are are in various collections including Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. The artist lives and works in New Delhi.
