About The Artist

Born in New Delhi in 1982, holds a post-graduate degree in Visual Art from Lalit Kala Sansthan, Agra, completed in 2005. She graduated from College of Art, New Delhi in 2003 with specialization in Applied Art. One finds elements of Imperial miniature paintings in Shubhra’s works as she develops in her own particular way. Her canvases regale walls of habitations. There are elements of the narrative in her figurative works, some relating to couples and groups with their different relationships, some using the sequence of forms as an element of motion in suspension which is both conceptual and physical. Not ending as a single idea, but a whole multiplicity of thoughts that are suspended in a space of permanent and momentary feelings of the mind.
