About The Artist
Poojan Gupta is an artist based between London and Jaipur. In her work, she utilizes throwaway pharmaceutical blister packs as her primary medium; she draws inspiration from her cultural upbringing, where rituals and sacred offerings imbue ordinary objects with significance. Through sculptural installations, she aims to highlight the aesthetic and ethical dimensions of these materials, exceeding their ordinary functions. Since 2020, she has experimented with various techniques such as assemblage, casting, print-making, and digital reproduction to create artworks that challenge conventional perceptions. By repurposing medical waste into art, she addresses environmental concerns and advocates for a shift in our collective sensibilities.
She holds an MA in Art and Science from Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London (2024), a Masters in Fine Art from Visva-Bharati University (2021), and a certificate in Philosophy and Critical Thinking from The University of Queensland.
