About The Artist

Sudip Roy was born in Kolkata, West Bengal. He pursued arts from Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata and was a Gold Medalist. His early works included watercolors, pencil sketches, charcoals and a heady series of landscapes done in limpid line drawings. Over the years he mastered the art of watercolour and gradually moved from landscapes to subjects like people and architectural facades in historical monuments and temples. It was in the mid 90’s that he shifted to New Delhi and had his first solo show at Art Today , which was a complete success. His works reflect our daily lives showcasing the ordinary things . His control of shade and light gives a wonderful depth to his work making it seem extremely real.
