About The Artist
Avijit Duttas works have been exhibited at various National and International Galleries and Art Events from the year 1996 on wards. He received Awards and Certificates of merit for his water color paintings in 1995-1996 from Academy Of Fine Arts (Visual arts) and in 1996-1997 from Rabindra Bharati University.
He has participated in many important projects. He conducted a workshop based on the Indian Guru-Shishya tradition at Angkorwat, Cambodia in 2010 and it was exhibited all over India. In the same year he participated in a creative workshop on re-designing of auto rickshaw in New Delhi which celebrated international recognition. He was also invited to be a Jury selection member for the International Biennale held in Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal as well.
He went to Greece and New Zealand in 2011 to participate in workshops demonstrating the use of watercolor on Canvas. In 2012 he participated in Art Basel Miami River Art Fair, Miami, USA. In 2013 he was invited by Shun Art Gallery (Sanghai) for The International Artist Group Exhibition.
He received Vice-Versa Residency Fellowship at the Shangyuan Art Museum in Beijing, China, under the International Artist Exchange Program in 2014. Avijit curated an Art exhibition, Lost in Transition (the forgotten art of letter writing) at The Harrington Street Arts Centre (Kolkata) and in the same year he curated a show on water colour with artists from India and China named Tradition & Transition at Kalakriti Art Gallery (Hyderabad).
