About The Artist
Born in 1978 at Indore, Mudita Bhandari did BFA in Ceramics from Kala Bhawan, Santiniketan and MFA from Faculty of Fine Arts, Vadodara.
Inspired by the use of clay in the folk tradition of India,she began working extensively in terracotta.Through her work she is interested in exploring not just form but the spaces created by those forms. Mudita has been awarded the National Scholarship from the Human Resource Department, Government of India and the Lalit Kala Akademi Scholarship in 2000. A recipient of The Ceramic Art Residency Program of the FuLe International Ceramic Art Museums (FLICAM) in Fuping China in 2013, she regularly conducts workshops at institutions like Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, IIT Kanpur and IIM Indore.She has exhibited across India tag heuer replica and abroad including the first, third and the fourth ASNA Ceramic Triennial, Karachi,Pakistan.The artist lives and works from her studio in Indore, India
