About The Artist
This solitary journey in return creates or makes way for varied events and new ideas that are experienced by the self and by others.
And though the experience may be shared, what each one takes away from it, is what molds them into who they are.
My understanding of who I am transforms itself in to forms and hence the process of work with which I am involved. This reaction is much like anyone else’s and still it is different because it comes from what I have taken away from each experience.
My focus has remained, not on the ever widening circle of change, but on that perimeter which marks my Presence. A perimeter that slowly expands to absorb objects and patterns that it is surrounded by, creating in a way an island of calm that often gets swept away by chaotic new ideas. This mainly reflects the society and culture I live within.
Everyday objects that flit in and out of my day, become for me a focal point of analysis.
Practicing and exploring Painting, printmaking & mixed media for the past few years, working with concepts and enhancing it with materials I come across in my day to day life makes it easier for me to transform my ideas into a work of art.
Slowly nudging the boundaries of what is the norm to include the unacceptable and make it acceptable.
And therein lays the problem or the concern. Who decides what the norm is and how far you can nudge the perimeter? To what extent can order be applied to chaos and who decides that it is indeed order?
How and when does an idea or an experience translated into form become a piece of Art? And is it not an individual’s choice to call it that?
“Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?” a question asked long ago, but the answers are the solitary journey that each of us takes.
