About The Artist
Born in 1964,New Delhi. Parvathy is a graduate with Distinction in Fine Art from Stella Maris College and did her master’s degree from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design in London on a Chevening Scholarship. A multi-talented artist who draws, paints, sculpts and writes, conceptually her practice is rooted in ideas of narrative, at ways of looking, and the privileging of sight as reflected in much of her painting and drawing work. The daily narratives of life, inspired by her experiences or triggered by the material she collects, are explored through fragmentary, familiar and unfamiliar perspectives. Marked for an obsessive attention to detail and technique, equal focus is laid on the manner and content of the subject in her work, reflective of contemporary cultural milieu and urban-scape in a globalized world. Her work has featured in several exhibitions held across the country and abroad, from where it has found its way into some important collections
