“The exodus is a permanent scar on the psyche of every single Kashmiri Pandit. We were betrayed not only by our neighbors in Kashmir but also by the successive Governments in Delhi.
Our issue was exploited for political point scoring and electoral advantage but never to do justice or rehabilitate us back to our roots.
All that remains are the fond memories of a lost paradise. The only solace one can find is under the shade of Chinar which stands upright, watching silently all that happens around. We too will, one day, rise like a Chinar, that symbol of majestic solidity, dignity and unique identity”.
