“Losing one’s motherland leaves a deep void within. It manifests in a perpetual yearning for home. The roots seek the firm earth to stand on, but find only water, without a bottom beneath. We must stay afloat, like the lake-flora, hold on to the surface however placid or turbulent. Like Ma Sharada, seated on a lotus, guiding and inspiring me to walk the path of knowledge and art, and keeping us Kashmiri Pandits tethered to our heritage”.
