THE SONG OF LIFE
SONG OF LIFE is a product of introspection and reflection. The sculptures were created over six months but were worked through the prism of over 40 years of memories, experience, curiosity and learnings. Some works are contemplative, some playful, and some dynamic. But all are made with a deep sense of purpose while celebrating the wonder of life and living.

TRANSLATING HUMAN FIGURES
Dimpy Menon has been translating the human form into acrobatic, graceful figures for years Her sumptuous men and women made entirely of bronze are sculptures that are meant to signify the music of momentum in our lives as we sit or stand or take on positions of poise in perfect or imperfect scenarios.
The existence of the human in relation to the natural world is Menons tryst with her world of sculptural essence. For her sculpting is a tool to discover the truth and remind herself and viewers through various moods that human experience is founded on simple, humble everyday moments.
Menon’s journey and research of multiple human forms starts from the understanding of her own core of universal values, and then moves on to the study of human needs, to ultimately reach for self-awareness, landing on a profound inner world that seeks to personify human figures in contemporary character.
Physical fluidity and perfect posture shape the bronze of her sculptures but she also weaves in a sophisticated signature of the raw surface as nudes, who are both beautiful as well as vulnerable When we gaze at her figures we are reminded of the human condition of our own emotions tied to psychological realities both securities as well as insecurities and torment that are common events in the lives of mankind.
Starting from a pure passion for the sculptured story her figures have an inherent loyalty to technique and interpretation Her hold on the understanding of anatomical distinctiveness is smooth and tactile
We sense within her a thorough study on anatomy, which transpires from the smooth musculatures and veins of her subjects, charged with tension and emblems of strength as well as grace. This exhibition reminds me of the great Italian sculptors who believed that the human body is a complete and comprehensive muses capable of transmitting any concept and emotion, and is one of the most wrought after subjects in the history of art. The technique and interpretation of the human figure subsequently creates a unique and personal language for every sculptor in the world
