Gautam Bhatia, a Delhi-based architect, artist, and writer, has built extensively in India and in the United States, where his sculptures and drawings have been exhibited in solo and group shows. Much of his writing is based on contemporary practices in architecture, though he has also published several books on satire. He lives presently in Delhi, and is in practice with another architect, Navin Gupta. His recent projects include Monolith Resorts, Bhimtal, and Treetops Country-Inn, Corbett Park in the hills of Uttaranchal. He is presently designing and constructing the Himalaya Arts Centre, Kausani, Sunvalley Resort, Nainital, and a retreat in Sattal. All his work is consistent with current ecological practices, and harnesses local materials and techniques into contemporary expression.
