Born 1965 at Delhi, Bhagat Singh initially did a trade certificate course and worked as a technician and then as a bill board painter before taking up formal studies in art first for his Bachelor’s and then Master’s Degrees both in Painting that he passed from the Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi. A brief stint as an art teacher in a school followed by short courses in cultural studies at the Centre for Cultural Resources & Training and then at the National Museum, all in Delhi, helped to hone his skills and add to his expertise in the arts . The exuberant colourful imagery in Bhagat Singh’s canvases presents a panoramic view of nature in its myriad forms. Though he grew up in a crowded middle class area of the city, Bhagat is a committed landscape artist.
