Born in 1949, R.S.Sakya is a Chitra Visharad (BFA) from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. He has been Honored by President of India in President House (2007), Kala Guru Samman by Kaalankan Prayas, Dhanbad (2003), by Camlin – for the, Northern India Professional Artist Exhibition( 2001)and also by AIFACS, New Delhi in exhibition to Mark 50 Years of India’s Independence Day. His recent solo shows were at Karnatka Chitrakala parisath Bangalore ( May – 2011), Duet Show at India Habitat Center New Delhi (2011),at Punjab Kala Bhawan Chandigarh (2010),at Ravindra Bhawan NLKA New Delhi (2010). He also has many group shows under his name.
The way life is continuous and changeable, similarly, the creativity of art is changing like day and night, joy and sorrow, light and shadow is all ever changing.
Just as a poet writes in words in the strength of thoughts and experience and artist very well portrays his work with the help of colours and his brush strokes to make and individual in his own respectability to stand out different from the rest.
Nature has truly inspired me and my inner self has received energy.
We ponder over the power of Nature. Be it is whatsoever from and kind as the mother, earth, or the soul within, as a wife or sister symbolizes an entity which is only meant to lend and import.
My paintings are an attempt to depict that from is various moods of Nature, sometimes with affection and out of cleverness.
My colours when I use then seem to talk to me and appear to play all sorts of games with me and at times are able to bring me in communion with the almighty
